GET TO KNOW

Kim Ellison, LCSW

During her 14 years in practice she worked at a community-based agency where experience was gained in outpatient care, hospital diversion, crisis management, child welfare and school age day treatment.  Not only did Kim provide direct services to children, adolescents and families of the Hudson Valley, Kim also provided clinical supervision to therapists providing services in the above-mentioned areas.  Kim was part of designing and implementing many programs within the Hudson Valley, assisting in improving the services available to our children.

While working within the community Kim received incredible training in many evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Family Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  The clinical  approach used is eclectic with a strong focus on strength-based therapy, Structural Family Therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
